    Job Description

    The UX Designer is responsible for creating and implementing designs which make human-computer interactions intuitive, easy, adaptive, consistent, and relevant to the task being performed. They must ensure that the design of a system not only satisfies the functionality that the user requires, but also considers the aesthetic appeal of the functionality. Our UX Designer will participate in the discovery, definition, design, development, and deployment processes of the software delivery lifecycle. Our UX Designer will also participate in researching and understanding users, creating user personas, defining wireframes, information architecture, and style guides, producing interface designs, performing usability testing, and validating assumptions using survey techniques and feedback loops.

     

    Job Requirements

    Primary Responsibilities:

    • Responsible for creating the look and feel of computer interfaces.
    • Designing navigation of the interfaces to produce a positive human-computer interaction.
    • Communicating the design for the product being created using storyboards, user flows, mockups, wireframes, functional prototypes, information architecture, user research and usability testing
    • Responsible for translating the requirements for a product's optimal functionality into interactive solutions. This entails:
      • The incorporation of market research and psychology
      • Design of the human-computer interface for optimal effectiveness
      • Inclusion of easily navigable content, and graphic/information design and accounting for accessibility and working with the UI development team to ensure the technical feasibility of the design.
    • Participate in the evolution of Agile / UX methodologies and the product vision and roadmap.

     

    Requirements:

    • Minimum 3 years of experience with UX, Graphic Design, and/or Visual Design
    • Bachelor’s degree, with a major in a design or software engineering related field or commensurate experience
    • Good verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate across all levels of associates as well as external contacts
    • Creativity, problem-solving, passion for and attention to detail
    • Strong conceptualization ability, strong visual communication ability, drawing skills and sketchbook technique
    • Ability to create wireframes as well as visual design components

     

    Preferred Skills / Qualifications:

    • A thorough understanding of user-centered design methodologies and processes such as:  journey maps, persona creation, wireframing, usability testing, etc.
    • Experience with ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) or Section 508 practices
    • User experience design experience for software, web applications which leverage emergent technologies, and mobile devices
    • Basic knowledge of front-end web development languages, i.e., HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
    • Used responsive web design to create user interfaces that automatically conform to multiple screen sizes and devices
